“Bridegroom” and TriBeCa Film Festival

May 21, 2013

Ron White and I just went to TriBeCa  Film Fest last month in NYC to attend the screening of the new documentary "Bridegroom".
Official trailer:

Ron is a producer of the film and Margo's three songs will be in the Movie.

1. This Holiday Night
2. You Belong To Me - (not Carly Simon but the old standard)
3. Somewhere Over The Rainbow

This is a very important film about civil rights & Love of course.
Creators/Directors, Linda Bloodworth Thomason (creator of Designing Women) Harry Thomason and Shane Bitney Cone (protagonist) led a QnA afterward. Linda and Harry have been best friends with Bill Clinton for many years and dear friends of Ron and Margo.
Founders of TriBeCa, Robert DeNiro and Jane Rosenthall were also there to show support of this important topic. DeNiro, Jane Rosenthall and Craig Hatkoff founded the TriBeCa film festival as an artistic response to the attacks of 911.

President, William Jefferson Clinton, graced us with his fantastically charismatic presence and introduced the film. The video of his introduction is below.

It was later announced that Bridegroom was the recipient of the Audience Award at TriBeCa (for non-fiction). Margo Rey expressed her hope that this film would change the hearts and minds of a new generation of voters and possibly move others who grew up with a different view but are a heart beat away from the right decision. Ron and Margo were honored to be a part of this historic event.
